KC U19 National Senior Basketball Champs

Kingston College defeated Ardenne High School 59-54 to take the ISSA/KFC National Senior School Basketball title at the National Stadium Courts on Friday, April 18, 2008.

The competition's MVP, Omari Green, led the 'Purples' with a game high 22 points and 13 rebounds and received good support from Brian Lecky and Christopher Crawford who had 10 points each.read more »

KC Old Boy George Scott was a teacher and headmaster in Jamaica where he taught English and French. In 1977, he migrated to Canada and started his second career by opening a Jamaican bakery.

Later, he moved his family and business to Hartford, Connecticut where from a small outfit with just three employees, the bakery is now a bustling enterprise that employs over 50 people.   read more>>

KC Old Boy Lawrence Reynolds Deployed to Iraq

KC Old Boy, 1st Lieutenant Lawrence Reynolds, is preparing for deployment to Iraq. He is expected to depart sometime this month. A medical services officer, he has been in the army for over three years--August will be four years.  He is a member of 3-13th Field Artillery Regiment at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where has been stationed since 2006.  read more »

KC won both the Under 19 and the inaugural Under 16 boys’ crowns in the finals  of the ISSA National Schools Table Tennis  Competition played recently at Dinthill Technical.

In the Under19  boys’ final, urban champions KC trounced rural champions St.Mary High 4-1 and edged S. Mary High 3-2 in the Under 16 final. read more »

Construction Resumes on Melbourne Building

Work has resumed on the construction of the Melbourne Social Services Building.

After interminable delays work has begun on what everyone hopes is the last phase of the Melbourne Social Services Building. The project is being championed by the tireless leader of the Florida chapter, Audley Hewitt.

The current project schedule predicts a completion date over the summer of 2008.

Atlanta Banquet Planned for June 14th, 2008

The KCOBA Atlanta Chapter will hold its Eight Annual Reunion & Awards Banquet on June 14th, 2008 at the Perimeter Holiday Inn Select in Dunwoody.

Guest speaker will be his Excellency, Anthony Johnson, the Ambassador to the United States.

Music will be provided by another KC old boy, DJ Migrane. Our Honoree will be Atlanta Dentist Dr. Marc Roberts.  Awards for community service will be presented to Karl Chambers, President of Integrity Children’s Fund and Derrick Harvey, President of the Atlanta Jamaica Association. 

Awards for service to the Atlanta chapter will go to Mrs. Alicia Adams, Mrs. Arlene Barrett, Mrs. Toni Laman, Mrs. Jo-Ann McNish and Mrs. Merthella Wright.
