THE Kingston College community is outraged over the senseless killing of Khajeel Mais, a 17 year-old student of the college on Friday, July 1, 2011.
In a press release submitted by Vice Principal, Juliet Wilson, the school administration said news of Mais' untimely passing has sent shock waves through the Kingston College community.
"The reports concerning Khajeel's killing have left us bewildered as we try to understand the unexplained and inexplicable circumstances of Khajeel's death. Khajeel had just completed Grade 11. The Chairman of the School Board, all members of the Board, the Principal and Staff at Kingston College are saddened by this tragedy, and offer condolences to Khajeel's family in their time of profound grief," the release said.
Mais was shot by the driver of a BMW X5 SUV after a minor fender bender in Havendale, St. Andrew.
Police report that the man exited his black BMW X5 sports utility vehicle and fired several shots into a taxi in which Mais was a passenger before fleeing the scene.
