Dub poet group No Maddz  who appeared  with ace sprinter Usain Bolt  in the promotion of Puma new product ‘Faas’ sneakers, have featured prominently in the record breaking 2nd quarter 2011 profit performance  for the German sportswear manufacturing giant.

According to a recently released audited financial  report, the company credited its €37.6 million (J$4.57billion) profit in part to the strong sales of its Jamaican inspired  ‘Fass’ sneakers endorsed by the world 100 and 200 meters  record holder and the KCOB No Maddz group.

The shoe which is constructed with BioRide technology has emerged as a top seller since the company launched its new international ad campaign in which Usain Bolt and No Maddz jogged along the Palisadoes road in Kingston.

No Maddz comprises four poets /actors who also starred in the film Better Mus’ Come.

Under the tutelage of KC’s drama teacher Peter “Maestro” Heslop from late 1990’s to the early 2000’s, the group has earned local and international acclaim and are now one of the most sought after dub poets. The group comprises: Sheldon Shepherd, Everaldo Creary, Christopher Gordon and O’Neil Peart.  All members were recipients of the Jamaican Prime Minister’s Youth Award for excellence in the field of Arts & Culture: Creary in 2005, Sheldon in 2006, Peart in 2007 and Gordon 2009.

Maddz and Bolt are showcased heavily on the Faas site.
