In early the 2000’s, while editor of the Fortis Forever Newsletters, I asked Wally Johnson to write an article for me on his memories of Kingston College.  Well, it took a lot of asking until he agreed. After getting the article and reading it, I thought it was one of the finest articles written about Kingston College.

He named it, “36 YEARS OF RANDOM RECOLLECTIONS.” For those of you who haven’t read, be prepared for a treat and for those of you who have read it, here it is once more.

Here are some facts about Wally Johnson:

Ivan Walbridge “Wally” Johnson was the Honoree for 2006 at the Kingston College Old Boys Association, Jamaica Annual Reunion Dinner.

Ivan “Wally” Johnson entered Kingston College in 1950, after attending Blake Preparatory School..

Wally is one of six brothers who attended Kingston College.

He attended The Jamaica School of Art before going off to England to attend The Goldsmith College, School of Art, in London.

Wally returned to Jamaica in 1966, and began teaching at Kingston College.

He became Sports Master in December of 1968 until August of 1975 and was Head of the Art Department from 1966-1978.

Ivan “Wally” Johnson was Headmaster from May 1994 – August 2005.
