We wish the KC family and all Jamaicans at home and abroad a very happy and prosperous New Year.

On each of his two visits to Atlanta since his appointment, His Excellency, Ambassador Stephen Vasciannie has pointed out how significant the work of past student associations are to the development of Jamaica. As the KCOBA Chapters continue our hard work, we want to wish other alumni associations much success in 2013.

Ambassador Vasciannie was the guest speaker at the Atlanta Jamaica 50th Awards Ceremony at Atlanta's City Hall Atrium on Saturday, January 19th 2013 where our own Glen Laman received an award for community service - congrats Glen for your tireless service to KC and the community. Also, we are certainly proud to have another Fortisan at the helm of the embassy in Washington and we wish the Ambassador and his family all the best for the New Year.

The appointment of a principal at KC was long overdue. Congrats to Mr. Dave Myrie for taking-up the mantle. Mr. Myrie has hit the ground running and we look forward to his leadership at the College as he and the various stakeholders work together to lift the College to new heights. We wish Mr. Myrie, the teachers and the rest of his staff all the best for the New Year.

Thanks to our supporters, our fund-raising events continue to attract more patrons and exceed our goals and expectations. We were able to expand our contributions to our alma mater and the Atlanta community because of the generosity and commitment of people like you. Thank you very much. We wish you a new year filled with peace, joy, and meaning.

In part, we thrived because of the incredible hard work, creativity, and dedication of our general membership and the Board of Directors. I am personally grateful to each of you for the tremendous efforts, and I wish everyone a rewarding and joyous new year. I look forward to working with you in 2013.

I am delighted in the camaraderie as our various Chapters work together to accomplish some significant goals. Happy New Year to all the Chapter presidents, their members and supporters.

To all the students at KC, we hope your hard work will yield dividends as you pursue your scholastic goals at the great Kingston College. May 2013 see you excel in your endeavors.

Finally, condolences to the families of the late Canon J.A.H Ramsey, William McLean 'Youngster' Goldsmith, Peter Maxwell and other members of the KC family.

Anthony A. Williams is the president of the KC Old Boys Association (GA) Inc aka the Atlanta Chapter.
