The Right Reverend William Murray, a former Master at Kingston College and Bishop of Mandeville died on Saturday, December 22, 2012.
Many of us who were at K.C. in the 1950s and 1960s were taught by him. He also served as the Chaplain of K.C. so some of us were prepared for Confirmation by him.
He later became Chaplain of the University of the West Indies and then Principal of the Church Teachers College in Mandeville. Later he was elected to be the Bishop of Mandeville.
As a priest, he was the first Anglican chaplain appointed to the University College of the West Indies, later to become the University of the West Indies.
In 1971, he was appointed principal of Church Teachers' College and served until he was consecrated bishop of Mandeville in 1976.
