Congratulations are in order to the editor of the KC Times, the newly minted Dr. Glen Laman. He recently graduated from the University of Management and Technology (UMT) earning a doctorate in Business Administration (DBA). He received his degree during the commencement ceremonies which were held in Arlington, Virginia where he also delivered the student commencement speech.
Glen started his doctoral studies in 2009 when he realized that UMT offered online degrees. He was attracted by the convenience of not having to attend physical classes. For his dissertation, he conducted research on Jamaican entrepreneurs.
At age 63, he is one of the oldest to graduate from the college with a doctorate. Several Jamaicans were among the over 1,000 students from 40 countries who received various degrees this year.
Glen attended KC from 1962 to 1968. He later pursued undergraduate studies in New York at Pace University and later earned an MBA from Brenau University in Georgia.
Congratulations Dr Laman. We look forward to the publication of your book on Jamaican entrepreneurship.
Job well done.
