KCOB Brandon Allwood receives International student award in Toronto

Former Deputy Head Boy of KC and Jamaica Observer Teenage Club President, Brandon Allwood, was one of eight international undergraduates to receive the Toronto Excellence Award at the 2nd. Annual Toronto International Students' Festival, held recently in Toronto, Canada. He was the only student from the Caribbean to be honored.

He is currently pursuing Communication Studies at York University.

Allwood started his career in communications as a Jamaica Observer TEENage Magazine writer in 2004. He also produced and presented a radio program on HOT 102FM and a television program for the National Family Planning Board that was aired on Television Jamaica (TVJ).

 He was a recipient of the Prime Minister’s National Award for Excellence in Journalism in 2007, and in 2009, Allwood started his own public relations and communications firm, Brandon Allwood and Associates.
