Introducing the keynote speaker for KC’s 2014 graduation ceremony

Noel Spencer was keynote speaker for the 2014 Graduating class at Kingston College

Noel is President of Spencers Financial Group which provides services in financial planning for retirement, Life and Disability insurance, mutual funds, and tax preparation and representation in New York, USA.

Having migrated from Jamaica in 1973, his early career was spent at JP Morgan Chase, and Doubleday and Company.

Before launching Spencers Financial, Noel was a Tax Specialist with KPMG Peat Marwick, the largest CPA consulting firm in the world. Prior to KPMG, he was the Senior Policy Analyst at ASARCO Inc., a Fortune 50 firm where he was the lead coordinator in designing and implementing their worldwide computerized online accounting system.

Noel holds an MBA in International Finance from St. John’s University and a BBA from Pace University. At Pace University, he was the founder and eventual President of the Caribbean Evening Students’ Association. He also lettered in Soccer and was the recipient of the Keys to the University for his commitment to student affairs development. Noel also earned the LUTCF designation from the American College.

Noel was the first person of color to serve on the Town Board of Chester in its 300 year history, from 1998 to 2005 where he was reelected twice. He continued to create history by being the first person of color to be elected an Orange County, NY Legislator for the 8th district in 2005.

Noel was elected Chairman of the Loan and Audit Committee Board of the Community Bank of Orange - the first Jamaican in the USA to start a bank.

He served numerous terms on the following boards:
