KC Old Boy Raymond Mair and his wife Patsy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on 15th August 2014.
They both decided to make donations to their respective high schools as part of the celebration. Patsy attended St. Hugh’s High.
In a brief ceremony they presented a check to KC’s principal Dave Myrie on September 4th 2014. The principal was “welcoming and charming.” Funds are to be used to assist a deserving student. They were also apprised of the many needs at the school and the many ways the old boys are pitching to help.
A similar donation was later made to St. Hugh’s High school.
Mair is the author of several books of poetry and in 2014 he won a National Book Award in the category of Best Poetry for 'Shards of Remembering.'
