The horrible rain and cold weather didn’t stop the patrons from coming out to the 2018 Annual George Thompson Memorial Scholarship Christmas Party. The turnout was exceptional despite the horrible weather. Although the weather was cold outside, the temperature inside the club house was hot as a result of DJ YoYo having the crowd dancing all night.

As usual the event was filled with beautiful ladies in their finest apparel. It was a pleasure to see our brothers from other chapters in attendance. Big “shot out” to the Tampa chapter they were there in numbers, too much to count. Other notable KC Old Boys that have travelled miles to attend included Prof. Wilks. It was also nice to see our elder from the class of 1959 Ralston Johnson. Even with his challenges he finds a way to still come out and support. Maximum respect Ralston.

Thanks to the 2018 honorees Dr. Noel Erskine and the KC Class of 1965. Enough can’t be said about Dr. Erskine and the wonderful job he is doing in the Atlanta community. We the KCOBA of GA Inc. appreciate your leadership and support. Our other Honoree “The class of 1965” was honored for their continuous support as a group to the advancement of KC.

Without dedicated individuals such as these gentlemen giving back to their Alumni, our education system would be quite different.

Thanks to our special guest for the night Dr. Elaine Bryan, Jamaica’s new honorary Consul to Atlanta and her husband; the entertainer, Paul Lawrence, who delighted the crowd with a few holiday selections, the caterer Pauline, who did a great job with the food as usual. The black cake was ‘off the chain’ I had to put in my order for Christmas.

Special appreciation goes out to the all the wives (Mrs. McNish, Mrs. Binns, Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Daly) that came out early and setup the beautiful decorations. We have received very positive feedback from patrons that it was well put together.

Spencer Financial and Ocho Rios Distribution generously provided raffle prizes. Our heartfelt thanks to them as well.

Job well done KCOBA of Georgia, you have rallied together to make this event a success.

Last but not least, special thanks to everyone who supported us. We truly appreciate it.

The proceeds from the event will benefit current students at Kingston College as well as Old Boys with their educational expenses in honor of the great Jamaican stalwart George Thompson.
