The KCOBA, Tampa Connection had its 11th annual dinner/dance on Saturday, March 2, 2019, which was well supported and attended. Of course there are areas in which improvements can be made, and we will make every effort to do so in our future events.
Apart from the success of the event, one of the highlights of the evening was the recognition of Sydney “Foggy” Burrowes, a stalwart and dynamic man who contributed so much towards the growth of Kingston College, (KC) and many of us who attended this great institution. In recognizing Foggy, we also recognized his family for their lifetime dedication to KC.
Foggy’s daughter, Anne attended the event and accepted a plaque of recognition in his honor. The Foggy Borrowes scholarship was also inaugurated as a part of the KC Scholarship Foundation, and we are so grateful that Anne shared the moment with us.
The main goal of this event, and like events that are held by the other KCOBA Chapters is to provide financial support to the school and its students; and the contributions to KC does not end with the dances. The KCOBA, Tampa Connection has been fortunate enough to have also received many financial donations towards the scholarship fund. This will allow us to add to the number of students who are able to attend KC who would not otherwise have been able to do so. We implore Alumnus, and friends to support the goal of the KCOBA.
Our thanks and gratitude go out to all those who have made our dinner/dance and scholarship fundraising a success, and we look forward to your continued support. Fortis Forever.
