The Governor General of Jamaica, Sir Patrick Linton Allen, was among the many patrons attending the Annual Kingston College Chapel Choir Christmas Concert at the UWI Chapel on Sunday, December 15th, 2019.
The Governor-General posted the following praise on Facebook after the concert:
Thank you Kingston College for inviting Lady Allen and I to
yesterday's Christmas Concert! Your Choir is truly gifted and
delivered a stellar performance!
The choir’s musical director Audley Davidson conducted the evening’s program which was emceed by KCOB Leahcim Semaj.
The concert featured selections by St. Hilda’s Diocesan High School Choir and the Church of the Ascension Handbell Choir.
The Guest Soloists Were Soprano Nomali Lumsden-Campbell and Kemoni Williams.
Founded in 1947, 22 years after the school was founded, the Kingston College Chapel Choir is one of the oldest in Jamaica. In October 2018, the choir was awarded a Silver Musgrave Medal for outstanding contribution in music.
This year the choir is celebrating its 73rd Anniversary.
