KC Old Boy, bioethicist and physician, Dr. Derrick Aarons has taken on a new role as Chief Executive Officer at The Health Professions Authority, Turks and Caicos Islands.
His previous job was the Health Registrar for the Turks and Caicos Islands. Prior to that he worked at the Caribbean Public Health Agency - CARPHA - as an Ethicist/Bioethics Consultant providing leadership in Research Ethics & Bioethics across the English-speaking Caribbean, with linkages for the Network in Bioethics in Central and South America countries.
Dr. Aarons has over 25 years’ experience in providing health care services, advice and support for patients and relatives, as well as the health care professions.
He is a Past-President of the Bioethics Society of the English-Speaking Caribbean.
He graduated Kingston College in 1972 and was Deputy-Headboy in his last year. He went on to graduate from the University of the West Indies (MBBS) and McGill University (MSc and PhD).
