Atlanta Chapter Resumes Christmas Fundraiser in Style

After a two year break due to the Covid-19, the annual Atlanta Chapter George Thompson Memorial Christmas Party resumed in a new and elegant venue on December 10, 2022.

This year’s event was held at the Falls at Autry Mills Clubhouse.

The party started at 6:00 pm with partygoers treated to delicious hors d'oeuvres. Saxophonist Quincy Chapman provided a musical interlude as the guests enjoyed a sumptuous dinner.

After dinner music for dancing was provided by the popular DJ Meely who got the crowd on their feet.

The honorees for the event included Mr. Errol Ritchie, former president of the Atlanta Jamaican Association who was presented with the community award. Mr. Ralston Johnston former KC star athlete, and Mr. Basil Watson CD world renown sculptor and KC Old Boy, were special awardees.

The evening’s emcee Mr. Will Hart kept the program moving with good humor and even had the crowd singing along with him.

Special guests included Jamaica’s Honorary Consul to Atlanta, Dr. Elaine Bryan, her husband Gregory and Jewel Scott Superior Court Judge for Clayton County and a former Honorary Consul to Atlanta.

The evening was enhanced by the presence of old boys who traveled from Florida and Jamaica for the occasion.
