On Friday, January 18, 2013 Kingston College accepted delivery of a long awaited school bus and a new motorcycle which will address longstanding transportation issues at the school.
The bus will be used by the school to transport students to various events during the year. The motorcycle is primarily a messenger bike for errands around Kingston.
The bus was paid for by school funds augmented by donations from the various chapters of the KCOBA, the KCPTA plus individual donors. The effort to raise the funds was coordinated by Audley Hewitt of the Florida chapter who also made a significant personal donation.
The “messenger bike” was contributed by the Fortis Pavilion.
A ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for staff, students and faculty was held at Clovelly Park when the bus arrived. Attendees included the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Michael Vasciannia; Principal Dave Myrie; Audley Hewitt of KCOBA Florida; Ray Fraser of KCOBA (Jamaica); Victor Henry - President of KCPTA; Paul Wright - President of Fortis Pavilion and headboy Joel Nomdarkham.
