Another successful KCOBA USA, Inc, Annual Reunion & Awards Dinner was had by all at the 30th, staging of this affair on Saturday May 4th, 2013 at the Prestigious Antun's in Queens, New York.
The evening quietly took shape as guests steadily streamed in with no undue bottleneck at the door. The Cocktail Hour began at 9: PM sharp and Keith & Tex took command of the floor calling patrons to dance while singing one of their best hits "Stop That Train". As the room filled up old friends continued to meet and greet each other, laughing and shaking hands as they reminisce on High School days.
Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Jeff Barnes, kept the program moving preventing delays and delighted the guests with his witty observations. The Award Presentation was smooth and professional with lots of photographs taken and the Honorees informative but brief. Our guest speaker, Jamaica's Ambassador to the United States. Stephen Vasciannie stole the evening as he eloquently informed an eager audience of the state of Jamaica and Kingston College. The audience especially liked his blending of English and Jamaica's colloquialism.
The food in this participant's opinion was fair but the usual complain over most years was nonexistent as the formalities were done away with surprisingly early allowing our guests, their most favored part of this Annual Reunion & Awards Dinner, "the dancing". They entered the dance floor by twos leaving coffee and deserts still to be served and from the number of same picked up by the servers our guests must have been much too preoccupied with the music, of DJ Prentice, and dancing to be bothered with Deserts.
At the end of the affair the leaving was painfully slow but eventually we all returned safely home.
