KCOBA USA held its Annual Scholarship Dance on October 26, 2013 at the Polish National Club in Hempstead, NY.  The function was great success and as a result 40 students at KC will be receiving scholarships to help them meet expenses while attending school.

We are very grateful for the support and are happy it was enjoyed by everyone.

Below is a letter we received from a supporter:

Fortis and thanks to the gentlemen of KCOBA USA, Inc. for executing a well run 21st Scholarship Dance and Fundraiser. My friends and I were well entertained and enjoyed ourselves immensely.

The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was good but not being Jamaican I would have preferred a few more Calypso and Soca. Also the cutting of the selections short made those songs less enjoyable for me. The mixings of the second DJ was better and he did play some Calypso towards the end of the night.

As an ongoing supporter to your events who loves Reggae Music, I want to remind you that we are not all Jamaican. I was born in Antigua but grew up in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

I think more people should come out and participate in this educational event. Maybe someone could record them on CD and use them as a means of fundraising to further finance your educational mission.

We particularly enjoyed your raffle and door prize part of the evening; and even though we did not win anything this time, we are looking forward to next year’s KCOBA USA, Inc affair.

In closing, I again commend KCOBA USA, Inc. team for a job well done.

Thank you,
