The Atlanta chapter of the KC Old Boys’ Association held its Annual Purple Fest in Lilburn, Georgia on June 20th, 2015 at the JVC Event Hall.

The evening’s entertainment featured the sounds of DJ Migraine as well as the comedy and song of Chris “Sarge” Parker.  A sumptuous buffet was prepared and served by Pearline. And everyone reportedly had a good time.

The successful event generated net proceeds that will be used to fund the chapter’s initiatives. The foremost being the George Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund which provides cash awards to students at KC as well as Old Boys attending university.  Other initiatives supported so far this year include the Table Tennis team trip to Miami, the Lissant Road property acquisition initiative and support for the school’s operating budget.

In the fall of each year the chapter also supports the Super Science Weekend at Woodland Middle School in the city of East Point, Georgia.  Students from surrounding schools are treated to a spectacular series of hands on science workshops that feature faculty and students from local colleges who make science fun and interesting.

Special Thanks to Gloria Hobbins of Global Village Travels (http://globalvillagetravels.com/) who provided a $1000 Jamaican holiday certificate which we used as a raffle first prize and Steve Abel who donated a Samsung Tablet for the second prize.

Our heartfelt thanks also to the Atlanta community including the various alumni groups and old boys who support us year after year.

Thank you all very much.
