Two KC Old Boys were honored by the Atlanta chapter at its Annual George Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund Christmas Party on December 12, 2015.
The honorees were Audley Hewett of the Florida Chapter and Rainford “Perry” Bloomfield of the New York Chapter. The awardees were presented with plaques by Jamaica’s Honorary Consul to Atlanta, Mrs. Jewel Scott.
Audley Hewett is known worldwide for coordinating the Florida Chapter’s Big Purple Session and his unmatched commitment and tireless work on behalf of KC. Audley travels to Jamaica regularly to attend to matters relating to KC and there is hardly a project benefitting KC in which he does not play a role. His expertise is raising funds. While he appreciates high tech, Audley understand the effectiveness of “high touch” and is in contact with numerous old boys who over the years have donated to various projects with his encouragement.
Rainford “Perry” Bloomfield is the man who coordinated the initial efforts for the Library and IT Capital Campaign which aims to raise US$300,000 to complete the Douglas Forrest Building, provide libraries, technology resource centers, additional classrooms and teacher incentive programs for both campuses. Perry has done an outstanding job leading the New York Chapter and his enthusiasm and energy are evident.
