Daughter of KC Old Boy Makes History as first female Minister of Foreign Affairs

On Tuesday, March 8, 2016, International Women's Day, Senator the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith assumed duties as Minister of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade, becoming the first woman in the history of Jamaica to hold this portfolio.

Minister Johnson Smith, has a first degree in French and International Relations, an LL.B degree from the University of the West Indies and a degree in Commercial Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

She is the daughter of prominent KC Old Boy, Ambassador Anthony Johnson a Jamaican politician, diplomat, economist and university lecturer. He is a former Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Senator and former JLP Member of Parliament, former Ambassador to the United States, and former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom
