In November 2017, our beloved Kingston College broke ground on its most ambitious project in many decades: the KC Library & Technology Capital Campaign. The project involves completing the Douglas Forrest Building, which will house a modern state of the art library, technology lab facilities, and additional classrooms.
The administration building is being completely refurbished with the addition of a second floor and third a floor equipped with an elevator. Construction commenced in January of this year (2018) and we are happy to report that the exterior of the building including painting and the removal of scaffolding will be completed by the end of this month (September).
The overall project is slated to be completed before the end of this year. Thank you to all who have contributed to this effort so far. Notwithstanding, now that the building is nearing completion, funds are needed for computers and other resources to furnish the building. Accordingly, it is not too late to contribute to this transformative endeavor. For more information on how to donate visit: https://kcobausa.org/capitalcampaign .
Prior to the ground breaking in November 2017, the project was in the pipeline for about three years and was delayed because of lack of sufficient funding. However, with the persistence of a number of key stakeholders and a determined steering committee, success is in sight. Yes, success! For years, our younger brothers at the institution have competed well, academically and otherwise, with the more affluent schools. The KC library & technology capital campaign serves to reduce the amenities gap between KC and other schools.
As part of the project, the library and other areas over Melbourne will also be upgraded. Ultimately, the entire teaching staff, students, and other persons at KC will benefit significantly from this project. For this reason, we want to say thank you, again, for your generosity and belief in the mission as we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of our students and Fortis family.
For individuals who are yet to contribute or who wish to contribute again, please donate today: https://kcobausa.org/capitalcampaign/ . FORTIS Forever!!!
