On Sunday, February 10, 2019 a number of KCOBA (Toronto) members along with family and friends of KCOB Dr. Herman Hamilton, celebrated his 90 th birthday at an event arranged by his daughter Lulanne who flew in from the United States for the occasion.

Dr. Hamilton, class of 1946, was a member of the winning KC Sunlight Cup cricket team in his graduating year, an honour he shares with his teammate and former treasurer of KCOBA (Toronto), James “Ruddy” Hart. Clive Barriffe, President of KCOBA (Toronto), extended birthday wishes on behalf of the board and members of the Toronto chapter. Secretary Norman Wallace, presented Dr. Hamilton with a number of KC memorabilia along with a copy of the book “A history of West Indies cricket”.

A most enjoyable time was had by all in attendance capped by Lulanne expressing her gratitude for the show of fortis support extended to her dad. She also used the opportunity to inform the gathering that the family will be establishing an “Equalizer” scholarship for young men “starting with their KC education” as both her grandfather, Cecil Hamilton and father “emphasized education as the great equalizer”.
