The Atlanta Chapter will be presenting Debra Ehrhardt’s award winning play Jamaica Farewell in an online fundraiser on December 12, 2020.
This will be in lieu of the chapter’s Annual George Thompson Memorial Scholarship Christmas Party due to Covid-19 restrictions.
This performance of Jamaica Farewell will be under the distinguished patronage of Her Excellency, Audrey Marks, Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States.
The event will feature holiday greetings from
· Honorable Oliver Mair, Jamaica’s Consul General to Miami
· Dave Myrie, Principal of Kingston College
· Tony Gray, President of the Atlanta Jamaica Association
Jamaica Farwell is a one woman play of the true story of Debra’s journey to America during a time of political upheaval in Jamaica. The play was written and is performed by Debra whose father, Paul Phillips, attended KC in the 1950's. It has received rave reviews across the globe is currently being made into a movie.
