The life of Ingrid Mourice Bachelor was celebrated on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, South Florida, at a moving memorial service that reflected her deep faith, generous spirit, and lasting impact on two nations she loved-Jamaica and the United States.
Ingrid, remembered as a distinguished "KC Old Girl," was laid to rest with the school crest of Kingston College adorning her casket. The purple and white were proudly present, as many Kingston College Old Boys attended the service, including the Principal, who joined the official honor guard as the casket made its final procession.
Ingrid was the beloved wife of former KC athlete Byron Bachelor, her husband of 39 years. Together, they built a life of love, faith, and service. Through the RuJohn Foundation, which she co-directed, Ingrid played a pivotal role in strengthening KC's sporting legacy. The Foundation was instrumental in donating the track at Melbourne Park as well as numerous other gifts to the school and wider community.
A Life of Accomplishment and Service
Born on February 4, 1958, in Guy's Hill, St. Catherine, Jamaica, Ingrid was the daughter of John and Ruth Tulloch. She attended Wolmer's Trust High School for Girls in Kingston before migrating abroad. After a period in Brooklyn, New York, she settled in Toronto, Canada, where she met Byron. They married on August 2, 1986, and later raised their two cherished children, Andrew and Christina, in South Florida.
Ingrid was a lifelong learner and professional of distinction. She earned her B.A. in Economics and Accounting from York University in Toronto in 1984, followed by a Master's in Accounting from Nova Southeastern University in 1996. She served as Controller at Tripp Scott Law Firm in Fort Lauderdale for over a decade before founding Bachelor & Associates, CPA, a thriving accounting firm that continues to serve more than 600 clients.
A Legacy of Giving
Ingrid's heart for service was as strong as her professional drive. Since 2003, she poured her energy into the RuJohn Foundation, transforming lives across Florida, California, Jamaica, and Canada. Her initiatives included building libraries, computer labs, and sports facilities; spearheading school feeding programs; and awarding more than 50 university scholarships.
She was also deeply engaged in church ministry and known for her vibrant worship. Beyond her public work, she enjoyed simple joys-traveling, playing solitaire, and spending time with family. Above all, Ingrid found her greatest fulfillment in helping others and mentoring young people.
Family and Legacy
Ingrid is survived by her devoted husband Byron; her loving children, Andrew and Christina; her siblings, Gloria Harvey, Monica Hinds, Eucal Tulloch, Sonia Tulloch-Worrell, and Rose Tulloch-Mwinyi; and 23 treasured nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Tulloch, and her brothers, Derrick Stephens, Neville Stephens, and Leonard Stephens.
Her vibrant spirit, integrity, and compassion touched countless lives. As Kingston College Old Boys, friends, and family bid farewell, it was clear that her legacy of love, service, and faith will endure.
